One of the four things below is yours to switch. Off means the tag is never loaded — nothing is requested from the company behind it, so there is nothing for it to see and no cookie for it to set. The other three run for everyone, and each one is listed with what does stop it rather than with a switch that does not. You can change your answer whenever you like from the Privacy choices link in the footer.

Measurement

Google Analytics, plus Vercel's cookieless page counts: how many people reached the site, where they came from, and how many finished a booking. This one runs either way. The cookie policy explains how to stop it in your browser.

Advertising

Always on

The Meta pixel for Facebook and Instagram. It reports back that an ad led to a booking, and it lets an advert for STEPFIT be shown to you on other sites afterwards. This one runs either way, and there is no switch here for it — the cookie policy explains what does stop it in your browser.

Visitor identification

Always on

retention.com matches signals from your visit against a database built from other sites, and where it finds a match it can tell us a named person was here — even if you never typed anything. This one runs for everyone and there is no switch here for it. What we receive is kept and marked as coming from identification, and may be used for marketing email — nothing has been sent yet, and anything sent carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

Microsoft Clarity replays how a page was used — where the pointer moved, what was clicked, how far you scrolled. It is kept off the waiver page, the careers form and the contact form, and that exclusion is written into this site’s own code rather than set in Microsoft’s dashboard.

Questions

Everything people ask before their first class.

Do I need to know how to dance?
No. You won't be the only first-timer, and the choreography is taught as you go. The instructor breaks every sequence down before the music picks up. Nobody is watching you — they're all counting their own steps.
Do I need to bring a platform?
No. STEPFIT supplies the platforms. Bring yourself, water, and a towel if you want one.
Is this class for you?
This is an impact class — you'll be stepping up and down on a platform for most of 55 minutes. If you have knee, hip, or ankle issues, check with your doctor first. The platform is optional, and the choreography works without it.
What should I wear?
Fitness clothes and athletic shoes. No sandals — you'll be stepping on and off a platform and you need shoes that stay on your feet.
How long is a class?
Usually 55 minutes. Each class shows its own length on the listing — the kickboxing class is 45.
Where is it?
Casa 21 Restaurant Bar & Grill, 4235 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. It's a Latin dance club, and STEPFIT takes the room before it opens. Free parking, main entrance. The bar is not open during class.
How fit do I need to be?
Come as you are. The platform height and the intensity are yours to set — you can take the step out entirely and keep moving with the music. People rest when they need to and pick the choreography back up.
What if I can't make it?
There's a one-click cancel link in your confirmation email. Use it at least 12 hours before the class and your spot goes to someone else and what you paid becomes a class credit valid 90 days against any future class. That is the only thing that earns a credit, so it is worth doing the moment you know. Inside 12 hours there isn't time to refill the room, so the link stops releasing the spot: it stays yours, and if you don't come you lose the class and the money — no refund and no credit. Not turning up without cancelling is the same. Message us if something serious happened and we'll look at it, but that's a favour rather than a rule. If STEPFIT cancels the class, you get a credit plus a discount toward your next one, and your money back as well if we've cancelled on you twice.
Can I bring my kids?
Classes are 18 and over. A 16 or 17 year old can attend when a parent or legal guardian books for them, confirms in the form that they are the parent or legal guardian, and signs the waiver on their behalf. That parent or guardian must stay at the venue for the whole class — you cannot drop them off and leave. You do not have to take the class yourself; if you want to, book your own spot, because a booking for a 16 or 17 year old covers them alone and does not include a place for you. We check the minor's age against photo ID at the door and cannot admit them without it, so bring it. Under 16 cannot take this class.
When should I arrive?
Ten minutes early is plenty. That gives you time to set up a platform and find a spot. If you're booking for someone under 18, come fifteen minutes early so there's time to sign the form, and plan to stay at the venue until the class ends.
What music do you play?
Depends on the class. Every posted class carries a theme — Latin, hip-hop, or a mix of both plus whatever else moves. The theme is on the class before you book it.
How many people are in a class?
Up to 30. The room holds more, but 30 keeps enough space around every platform to move properly.
The class is in a bar. Is there a rule about drinking beforehand?
Yes, and it's a practical one rather than a ban. The bar is not open during class, and nobody is going to ask whether you had a drink at dinner. What matters is whether you can safely step on and off a raised platform for 55 minutes in a dark room with other people around you. If the instructor judges you're not in a state to do that — alcohol, drugs or anything else — you won't take part that night. That call is the instructor's and it's made in the room. Come in a state where you could safely be handed a step platform; that's the whole of the rule.
Can STEPFIT refuse to let someone in?
Yes, for conduct. Aggression, threats or unwanted physical contact, harassment, racist or discriminatory language or conduct, disrespect toward someone in the room that doesn't stop when it's raised, ignoring the instructor's safety instructions, no signed waiver, or no photo ID for a 16 or 17 year old — any of those and you'll be turned away or asked to leave. There's no warning system for aggression, harassment or discrimination. Never for who you are: STEPFIT does not refuse anyone on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital status or any other characteristic protected by federal or Florida law. If someone treats you that way at a class, tell the instructor at the time, or use the contact page afterwards.
Is every class a step class?
Almost always, and everything above is written for the step class. Now and then STEPFIT posts a one-off in a different format — a kickboxing class, for instance. Those are tagged with what they are on the class list and on the booking page, and the answers above about the platform do not apply to them. If a class carries no tag beyond its music, it is the step class.
